What We Do
Since 2010, D & E Marine Limited has been playing its part to leading the revolution of marine contract engineering in Jamaica.
What We’ve Achieved
We aim for excellence here at D & E Marine. That’s why we are always improving our methods, our equipment, and our performance. Check out some of our highlighted achievements showcasing just how we execute excellence:
Seagrass Relocation: Patented Cut-And-Go Technique
D & E Marine has a renowned, patented technique for the sustainable transport and replanting of Thalassia sp. or seagrass bed plots. Based on data collection through scientific monitoring, our technique shows a success rate of ~90%. To learn more about this exclusive methodology, click here.
Dredge Work:
From sand pumping to surgical dredging, our 42-foot dredge boat “Kraken” allows us to remove unwanted sediment, debris, and other materials from your waterway quickly and efficiently. To find out how we carry out each dredge job to the needs of our clients, click here.
Beach Replenishment: Beaches Designed for Luxury Resorts
Beach replenishment jobs involve the re-construction and modification of the pre-existing beach and shoreline. This can either be done via sand pumping or through repositioning of delivered sand. To learn more about the different ways in which we accomplish projects like these, click here.
Dry Docking: Customizable Methods for Unusual Vessels
Our most recent addition in marine inventory includes inflatable, marine industrial air bags outsourced from China which has drastically increased our options for dry docking and salvaging vessels. This is especially for vessels with unusual shapes and sizes. To learn more about our most recent dry docking project, click here.
Underwater Demolition Equipment
With specialized modifications including the use of hydraulic power via a portable hydraulic motor, D & E Marine’s underwater jack hammer allows us to break apart hard materials that are submerged underwater such as concrete slabs or boulders. Construction of Breakwater Structures
We construct breakwater features using various types of gabion baskets using high quality marine-based materials to ensure stability and longevity of these containers. The fill materials, being boulders, cobble stones, cement, etc., are dependent on the needs of the client or area requiring the gabion baskets. To learn more about how we ensure the durability of these gabion baskets, click here.
Vessel Mooring Fitting and Placement
D & E Marine offers the construction and transport via our boat crane of mooring fittings according to the size and location of our client’s vessels. We also offer maintenance services and periodic inspections of these fittings, conducted by our expert team. See just how we’ve designed our mooring fittings in-house by clicking here.
Heavy Lift via Boat Crane
Mounted on to one of our two 40-foot work vessels is our boat crane, used for lift, lower, or position various objects or materials above or below the water surface. Our crane can carry up to 3 tons of material and is operated via remote control system allowing us to position or remove these objects based on the specific requests of our clients.
